Precious Memories

This poem was written in honor and tribute to my grandmother Loudene McInnis Breeden on her obituary. As her eldest grandchild, I recalled fond memories and spent time with her during the last weeks of her life. I learned from her my fashion sense, humor and generous nature as well as enjoying listening to her life stories. I am grateful to have had known her and carried her legacy throughout my life.

When I think of you, I reflect on the joyous times we shared.

Your wit and friendliness have always made me smile throughout my life’s struggles and pains

When I think of you, I am truly blessed to have had you in my life.

Through your wise advice, you have taught me how to be gracious, humble and willing to sacrifice for others.

When I think of you, I know the true meaning of unconditional love.

With encouragement, inspiration and your remarkable spirit, you have indeed shown to me that all things are possible only with God on our side.

Your generosity and everlasting presence will forever linger deep inside our hearts and within our precious memories.
