The poem Self – Portrait was written as a mode of encouragement to myself in reflecting over the past, present and future within my life journey.

As I look at myself, I am a woman in pain.

Reliving memories of unrequited love, emotional guilt and pleasurable gain.

As I look at myself, I see a woman in love.

Caught up in a world between fantasy and reality,

Knowing the truth is harder to face in the battle of the heart than agony.

As I look at myself, I see a woman in hope,

Thanking those who have helped me along the way toward my own life’s destiny.

Giving praise to God in whom has indeed healed and blessed me with the gift of making my test a true testimony.

Singing a song of joy and sharing an encouraging word, I will rise up in triumph.

Restoring my mess into a message throughout the world.
