The poem Facing Fears was written during a period in life where I reflected on my battle with depression and anxiety as well as my own health challenges. Even though I often felt like I was giving up, I march forward with perseverance and humility as a true warrior of life.

What do I fear?

I fear pain.

For pain is hurtful sorrow, drifting into an endless rain.

What do I fear?

I fear failure.

For failure is disappointing to those in whom you love to please and protect.

What do I fear?

I fear love.

For love is learning to trust, understand and respect.

Believing in oneself and others without the throwback.

So, people face your fears!

Kick them to the curb and lay them out for all to see,

For fear can only be conquered if you tackle them without defeat.
